This book follows a little girl and her Daddy to explain what PTSD is to a child. It aids in building empathy for the condition and opens the door to helpful conversations.
I had gotten a free copy of this book. As a veteran and a parent, this was a great read for my children to help them understand me and why sometimes Dad is a bit withdrawn. My mother who is a writer and an early childhood educator found the book very helpful as well as insightful. Definitely a helpful resource, but it is a tool and requires input and effort for it to really be effective.

I haven't seen anything else like this before and I feel like it's truly needed. This is great reading material for a parent to sit with their child for better understanding of what's going on. PTSD is so stressful for not only the soldier who came home, but for the whole family and can be so hard for the kids to deal understand. I believe this book will make a great learning aid.

As one with PTSD, this book has helped my grand children better understand the way I am. Sitting down and reading it with them we had many questions to answer together. The little ones have even more trouble understanding what PTSD is and how it affects us than do adults. This book puts it terms that they can understand as well pictures that clarify the words. Highly recommend this book.
